Bocce
The Bocce season league play starts in January. This is a great way to meet your neighbors, two at a time. Four nicely manicured lawn Bocce courts are located next to the Azurite pool. League play starts every January with two people making up each team. This is an ages-old game that originated in Italy then quickly spread in popularity to other countries; it is similar to bowling but without the pins. Slow-paced, yet never boring. Contact Frank Scheel for more details.
Tennis - Pickle Ball
Tennis and pickle ball courts are conveniently located within Portola Country Club. If interested in playing with the group, come on down. Pickleball normally plays Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9am. Singles and doubles recreational play to be scheduled depending upon the response. Portola residents and their guests receive first priority with outside players being utilized to fill in as required. Doubles play is usually a round-robin format . . . that is, three sets are played, each with a different partner. Keep fit with a fun activity that provides healthy exercise.
No fees whatsoever, so lace up the tennies, slap on some sunscreen, grab a racket, and bring your best game. Everyone is welcome!
